What is a Temporary Nanny?
Do you ever need a night out and lack a great babysitter? Do you want someone once a month or only for 5 days in May? Or do you need someone for summer only? A Temporary Nanny is what most people would call a "babysitter"; someone that only comes when you need them for a specific time period. Temps will work at any time of day or night.
If you are looking for a temporary nanny, please let us know as far in advance as possible. We will do our best under any circumstances and may be able to find someone right away if you need them, but it is easier to guarantee a nanny for you if we have at least 48hr. notice.
What is a Permanent Nanny?
Do you work full time or part time and want the same person to watch your child every time you are away? Or do you want a weekend away every month or just to go to the gym twice a week? A Permanent Nanny is perfect for a family that has a need for long term childcare, even those who only need a few hours at a time.
Permanent Nannies become a part of your family, promoting stability in your child's life, and will have a postive, life changing impact on your family. Permanent Nannies, if you want, can travel with your family, allowing you to spend time with your children on business trips or to truly ENJOY your vacation.
Once a contract has been signed between you and your permanent nanny, the Agency will no longer be involved and you will be able to work one on one with your nanny. However, in the unlikely event that there is ever a dispute, Anne's will work to resolve the issue and ensure that the family is satisified.
Permanent Nannies versus Daycare: Which is Better?
While the needs of each child vary greatly, it is Anne's belief that the next best thing to Mom and Dad is a loving, caring, constant individual. With a nanny, your child can stay in the best environment for any child their very own home. Further, daycares have frequent staff and child turnover, which creates uncertainty for children, depriving them the benefit of having someone to bond with, learn from, and love. Children in daycares are exposed to millions of germs and it is not uncommon for them to develop the "daycare cold", which never seems to go away. How often have you heard, "Every time he gets better, a week later he's sick again?". Allow your child's immune system to develop by limiting the risk.
How will our child learn to socialize if they are not with other children at daycare?
Your children will have plenty of contact with other children, but it will now be positive contact. One of your nanny's job requirements is to find other similar age children and facilitate play dates and group outings. In addition to going to the park, library, pet stores, etc., Anne's Agency nannies have monthly "play" meet and greets. This is a far better arrangement than daycare because your child will only be exposed to children they have fun with and are safe playing with. You won't have to worry about the daycare bully anymore.
